I’ve seen through a number of sources that Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) can be calculated by multiplying Basal Metabolic Rate by Physical Activity Rate. I’ve seen a Physical Activity Rate chart, where the following applies. Sedentary = x 1.2 Light = 1.375 Moderate = x 1.55 Active = 1.725 Hard = x 1.9 I can’t find scholarly foundation for where these numbers come from. Can someone explain what this scale represents? How accurate is it in terms of determining TDEE?
